How to stop sweaty hands! Good question just how do you stop sweaty hands? Does this sound like you, You are afraid to offer your hand to a friend or associate to shake for fear of it being a sweat mess. You try to play racket sports but your hand is so sweat you find it difficult to hold on to a racket. You find it difficult to hold a pen and write for the constant leak of sweat. Or even shy away from any social interaction
If you suffer from sweaty hands how ever severe you will be fully aware of the constant struggle normal day to day tasks bring. I’m typing this on a keyboard/laptop and with sweaty hands even this simple task would be a problem.
Having sweat hands is actually very common problem with as many as 1 in 100 people suffering at some point in their lives. Sweaty hands/palms can sometimes start to develop during teenage years, times when you are most under pressure to fit in and when your body is already changing. Imagine your to embarrassed to hold your new girlfriends hand due to your sweaty hands, that’s really going to knock your confidence. As you grow old and more into the adult world your going to be meeting new people all the time you will be expected to shale hands as you meet at interviews and other important situations where you need to make a good impression.
One thing I have found with sweaty hands / palms is that the hands will start to sweat and this starts a chain reaction. You notice your hands are sweating and you become anxious. The more anxious you become the more your hands sweat.
So what can you do to stop sweaty hands? Well there are a few options to look at that very in cost and effectiveness.
First of all are your sweaty caused or worsened by anxiety or stress? If so you must try to combat the root cause of the anxiety or stress as best as possible.
The most invasive treatment is Botox. Small injections of Botox are given directly in to the and and the active ingredients go to work to kill the small sweat glands within the hands. This can work for 3 to 6 months and can be fairly effective. The treatment must be built up over time and can be quite painful. The other common treatment for sweaty hands is iontophoresis. This is a technique of passing a small electric charge through the skin and this charge carries with it the medicine. So basically it is an injection with out the needle instead the electric charge carries the drug needed. So no needles as with botox. It requires the patient to place there hands into a iontophoretic chamber carrying active ingedient and solvent.
Now these treatments are proven and can have very good results but to me they are tiresome and time consuming and in some cases painful. There are more natural treatments for sweaty hands and all types of excessive sweating. I’ll bring you more about these in another post. But if you want to somewhere to start take a look at the book cover on the right click on it and read what my friend has to say about excessive sweating.
Below is a snippet from an email sent to my from a desperate wife. ‘How do you stop getting sweaty hands during an interview’ Her husband was going for an important job interview the following day and di not want a ‘sweaty hand interview‘ but wanted to confidently offer over a nice dry firm hand shake.
The trouble here is well there isn’t much trouble. This is a man who doesn’t normally have any excessive sweating problem but quite normally during a situation of anxiety and raised stress is worried about getting sweaty hands. The best advice which is sometimes easier said than done is to try and relax and stay calm. This is an abnormal situation you are getting in to so try to stick to as normal a routine as you can this will help with feelings of anxiety. Try to breath deeply.
As the wife said there is no need for any sort of sergical proceedures here. Yhink all that would be needed is just proir to the interview is a quick wash of the hands, throughly dry and apply a bit of powder. Think positively and do well in the interview.
No sweaty hands interview – go get the job
Please help!!!!
My hubby is going for an important interview and is worried about having sweaty hands due to being nervous! Does anyone know any good ways to stop sweaty palms so that he can shake hands confidently? (it’s not normally a problem so nothing drastic like surgery!)
an anti-perspirant… seriosuly why not? it’ll work!
I need a lotion or cream or something for sweaty hands so I can work with my cards properly. It can’t leave a residue on the cards.
I would try a product called certain dry. You put it on the night before. It works very well. I also sweat quite a bit and use it all over my hands the night before I play golf. It is clear and is used for underarms. Try it!
I know someone who is totally irritated be her sweaty palm. It keeps her from holding hands with her boyfriend and giving a handshake to new acquaintances. She is 20 years old and I know she'll surely be very happy to get answers from you. Thank you!
Baby Powder is very useful. My friend has the same problem and her doctor recommended it.
I have crazy sweaty hands. I'm not looking for a brand of grip or remedies like baby powder. i'm looking for something that will really work and that is really STRONG. my hands actually soak through the grip, that's how bad it is i have tried tons of grips and no "ask your doctor" answers.

I think this is as close to what you are looking for as you can get. I can't say from experience that it works, but this is exactly what it's made for. If it's that big a problem, it's worth a try. Good luck!
